Special Education Facilitation and Mediation Program
This is a free service that can be requested to resolve issues related to early intervention and special education.  Specially trained and neutral mediators are available to facilitate IFSP’s/IEP’s or to help reconcile differences and resolve conflicts.  These services can help parents and educators collaborate more effectively, reach decisions faster, preserve working relationships, and avoid costly hearings and complaints.  The best way to access these services is by calling (800)8RESOLVE or to submit a request to the Michigan Special Education Mediation Program (MSEMP) at http://msemp.cenmi.org.

Project PERFORM is an IDEA Mandated Activity Project grant awarded by the Michigan Department of Education. PERFORM is a free information, referral, and support research for Michigan families of children ages birth to 26 with special needs or disabilities and professionals who work with them. Staff members are parents who have children with disabilities, have been through similar experiences and have been trained in listening and communication skills, as well as problem solving.
